Writing can be scary and it is so easy to find a million reasons not to pursue the very vulnerable and magical act. EMPOWER THE WRITER WITHIN is a two-day 8-hour workshop that helps give you the tools to release the blocks and follow that inner call.

This Weekend Intensive uses a combination of REIKI, DISCUSSION, and WRITING EXERCISES we will move through each Energy Center to remove the fears and blocks that get in the way of expressing this truth.

Over the course of seven weeks we will create a Treatment and Outline for your play, pilot, or screenplay incorporating The Hero's Journey to tell stories that are bigger and deeper than us.
Each week includes: a LECTURE, REIKI HEALING, and NOTES on your work as we follow the chakras through our writing journey.

During our time together in WRITING WITH SPIRIT: EMPOWER THE WRITER WITHIN we will move through each energy center from Root to Crown removing blocks and resistance in order to open up to our creative, empowered selves.

This Workshop is NOT:

A place to learn about the fundamental rules of writing and formatting -- our goal is to let those go for a couple days to connect with what we want to say when we're not held to outside standards and pressure.

A place to produce pages -- our goal is to write in whatever form may show up over the weekend, even if it's a break from our traditional genre. All writing is writing.

a 7-week journey
with
WEEK 1: ROOT
the foundations of storytelling
We will discuss storytelling and why we do it, the spiritual nature of writing, blocks to writing, and an intro to the Hero's Journey - the format we'll be using for our outlines. The reiki healing will center around blocks to writing.

WEEK 2: SACRAL
the world that births the hero
We will discuss the Ordinary World that births the Hero, the Special World that challenges the Hero, the cycle of death and rebirth, the value of metaphor, and creating a solid Logline for your story. The reiki healing will center around the channeling creativity.

WEEK 3: SOLAR PLEXUS
the mirrors of the self
We will discuss the Universal Law of Reflection, Character Archetypes in the Hero's Journey, Internal and External Goals, and the Central Dramatic Question. The reiki healing will center around self-empowerment.

WEEK 4: HEART
the heart of the journey
We will discuss Dramatic Turns and the highs and lows of the Hero's Journey, Heart-ache and the Buddhist perspective on suffering, Divine Union, and the B-Story. The reiki healing will center around heart healing and opening.

WEEK 5: THROAT
our authentic voice
We will discuss Authenticity and finding our authentic voice, Living On Purpose and In Alignment, Genre + Tone, Finding a Niche, and how to get our stories out there with a guest lecture from an Industry Professional on pitching your story. The reiki healing will center around clearing fear and blocks around using our authentic voices.

WEEK 6: THIRD EYE
connecting to the voice within
We will discuss all things Intuition including what it is, how to connect with it, and how to strengthen your relationship with your internal voice. This week we will practice writing from intuition with several exercises to get us out of our heads and into our guts (+ hearts). The reiki healing will center around opening our connection to intuition and removing any fear/blocks that get in the way.

WEEK 7: CROWN
raising the vibration
We will discuss Vibration and How we can Vibrate Higher Daily, the value of discipline, how to develop writing (and spiritual) discipline, Connecting with your Spirit Guides, and Next Steps to take with developing and writing your story. The reiki healing will center around strengthening the connection to the Divine and Divine Guidance.

By the end you will have:
a TREATMENT
Including a LOGLINE, CHARACTER work, an OUTLINE and SYNOPSIS, a description of THE WORLD, a CENTRAL DRAMATIC QUESTION, and a clearly articulated TONE.
A start
You'll get the ball rolling with the first 5-10 pages of your script plus a clear outline on where the story is headed and who it's about. You'll have the resources to remove blocks as you continue the journey.
